Group B : Skills Assessment Criteria:
Qualification(s) assessed at AQF Bachelor degree or higher degree with a highly relevant field of study and at least one year of post-qualification
highly relevant employment at an appropriate skill level in the last five years;
OR
Qualification(s) assessed at AQF Bachelor degree or higher degree with an additional qualification at least Australian Qualifications Framework
(AQF) Diploma level in a highly relevant field of study and at least two years of post qualification highly relevant employment at an appropriate skill
level in the last five years;
OR
Qualification(s) assessed at AQF Bachelor degree or higher degree without a highly relevant field of study and at least three years of post qualification
highly relevant employment at an appropriate skill level in the last five years;
Note: For pre-qualification employment (if all of your employment is before your qualification assessed at the AQF bachelor degree level), five years of
highly relevant employment in addition to at least one year of highly relevant employment at an appropriate skill level in the last five years.
Requirements for Skills Assessment
This occupation requires a qualification assessed as comparable to the education level of an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Bachelor degree or higher degree and in a field highly relevant to the nominated occupation.
In addition to the above, it is essential for applicants to meet the following employment criteria:
- at least one year of post-qualification employment at an appropriate skill level,
- undertaken in the last five years,
- working 20 hours or more per week, and
- highly relevant to the nominated occupation.
If the qualification is not in a highly relevant field, then the applicant must have:
- three years of post-qualification employment experience at an appropriate skill level,
- undertaken in the last five years,
- working 20 hours or more per week, and
- highly relevant to the nominated occupation.
This is reduced to two years if there is an additional qualification at least at AQF Diploma level in a highly relevant field.
If employment has occurred before completion of qualification, then five years of highly relevant employment experience are required in addition to at least one year of highly relevant employment at an appropriate skill level in the last five years.
Please note in order to achieve a successful Skills Assessment Outcome, a positive assessment for both qualifications and employment is required.
Qualification
AQF Bachelor degree or higher degree*
Highly relevant major fields of study include Finance, Business, Commerce, Accounting, Economics, and Actuarial Studies. Majors in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering and ICT may be considered on a case-by-case basis if the employment is highly relevant.
* This includes qualifications assessed at AQF Bachelor, Master and Doctoral level.
Employment
Highly relevant tasks include, but are not limited to:
» Obtaining information on securities, market conditions, government regulations and financial circumstances of clients
» Interpreting data from securities reports, financial periodicals and stock-quotation viewer screens
» Analysing financial markets and financial market products
» Providing information and offering advice on financial market matters, market conditions and the history and prospects of corporations
» Executing buy and sell orders in the market place on behalf of clients
» Recording and transmitting buy and sell orders
» Calculating and recording costs of transactions.
